About The Book

Redefining women's roles within God's divine plan.
"Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares."    Proverbs 1:20

Rethinking Women, is a book geared to women, especially Christian women, who have been brought up learning traditional stories and views of the Bible.  It is my belief that the Bible's teachings have been distorted to devalue the status of women  Because women are devalued, so is their traditional role of wife and mother.  This devaluing begins in the first few chapters of Genesis.  Because the story of Adam and Eve is so often skewed in its telling, women have been blamed as the cause for the fall from Grace.  I believe that these first teachings have an ongoing effect on how women view themselves.  The lack of direction as well as a lack of correction from church leaders, has further enforced the struggle women go through.  This struggle is seen in various ways such as poor self-image, remaining in abusive situations, and low self-esteem,  to name a few.  We are in a spiritual battle, and because women are so devalued, I feel that women must be a very valuable weapon in this spiritual battle, or evil would not try so hard to keep them emotionally down.

Rethinking Women, is a spiritual shot-to-the soul to help women climb out of their emotional sludge and into the glorious life that God intended for His daughters.  In Rethinking Women, the reader is encouraged to journal along with the readings to begin sorting out the spiritual wheat from the chaff.  By rereading certain verses and understanding how the bible is intended to be understood and applied to their lives, women will be able to begin to erase the old image of themselves, and see more clearly the cherished position they hold as true daughters of God.

I believe this book will appeal to women because innately, we all understand that there is a problem, though we do not always understand the root of that problem.  Because we do not understand the root of the problem, we tend to become plate spinners; trying to accomplish excessive tasks, because we are searching for that one 'thing' that will fill that inner longing.  Rethinking Women,  helps to equip women with a new, biblical and spiritual view of their value as women.
